Buenos Aires, 16 - A team of economic experts from Argentina's government traveled to the United States to speed up the negotiations between the country and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding a precautionary credit line, said the Argentinean Finance Minister, Nicolás Dujovne. The IMF board will meet on Friday to discuss the request from Argentina. "We want to move forward with a gradual fiscal policy, but also be ready to react in the event of international turbulence. That is why we have no doubt about obtaining precautionary funding from the IMF that complements market financing," Dujovne said during a press conference yesterday. Government efforts to secure a credit line from the IMF are facing protests from the population, with demonstrations against the loan request and rising prices of utility services scheduled for today in Argentina.
